Wonder Woman 1984, Joker Debut Footage At CinemaCon

With Marvel Studios keeping a tight-lip about their life after Endgame, all eyes are on Warner Bros. as they seek to further capitalise on their DC comics properties following the critical and commercial successes of Aquaman and Wonder Woman (and there is Shazam still doing well at the cinema too).

And its reported exhibitors at CinemaCon in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, got a taste of next year’s Wonder Woman 1984, and some Joker too.

Footage from the Joker showed Phoenix as a failed stand-up slowly losing touch with reality. Talking to a therapist, he says “my mother always tells me to smile and put on a happy face.” At another point looking into a dressing room mirror, he slowly pushes his mouth into a macabre grin.  Sounds rather dark.

And the glimpse of Wonder Woman probably revealed a BIG spoiler for a key character. (Spoiler Alert). Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Ann Minerva;  undergoes an African tribal ritual to be imbued with the powers of the cheetah guardian. But something goes wrong (shes not an ideal candidate) leading to a horrifying transformation into the cat-like villainess Cheetah.
