‘Bad Boys for Life’ Trailer: Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Act Their Ages Alongside Team of Young Cops (Video)
Will Smith’s Mike Lowrey can hunt criminals until he’s 100, but that means that he’s going to have to play nice with the new kids on the block in the latest look at “Bad Boys for Life.”
The new trailer for the Sony film shows Smith’s character still riding or dying even as Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett is ready to kick up a recliner chair and retire. So without a partner, Lowrey has to team up with a group of hot shot youngsters called “Ammo” as led by Vanessa Hudgens and Charles Melton. It doesn’t go over well.
“Ammo is a ‘High School Musical’ boy band with guns,” Lowrey says. “You look good, Grandpa,” Melton’s character replies.

But when Lowrey discovers that someone is trying to kill him, he and Burnett keep things in the family and go to work for one last ride.
“Bad Boys for Life” is the sequel to the “Bad Boys” franchise from the late ’90s and early 2000s that reunites Smith and Lawrence. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah though are taking over in the director’s chair for Michael Bay, but there’s still plenty of explosions and stylized action sequences, including a slick car chase with Smith spinning out in a Porsche.
“Bad Boys for Life” opens in theaters on Jan. 17, 2020. Watch the new trailer for the film above.
