‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ First Trailer Brings Scary Spooks and Proton Packs to Rural America (Video)
The first trailer for “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” starts off slowly in a sleepy Oklahoma farm town with a struggling family down on their luck … but things heat up pretty darn fast.
A single mother (Carrie Coon) and her two kids (Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard) move to Oklahoma to “pick through the rubble of their grandfather’s life after he died.”
Before you know it, strange rumblings under the ground get everyone on edge, leading to the revelation that the deceased grandfather wasn’t a small-town farmer after all — but was actually Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), and luckily he kept his ghostbusting gear in the shed.

Cue science teacher Paul Rudd telling his curious students that there hasn’t been a ghost sighting in 30 years … clearly that’s all about to change, especially after they find the iconic Ecto-1.
Jason Reitman takes over directing duties from his father, Ivan Reitman, from a script by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.
Executive producers include Dan Aykroyd, Gil Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld and Michael Beugg.
