Gwyneth Paltrow Explains How She Could Possibly Forget She Was in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ (Video)
Now that the issue of Spider-Man’s future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been resolved, fans of the web-slinger can turn their attention to the real problem that’s been bothering them for months: How Gwyneth Paltrow, a.k.a. Pepper Potts, have possibly forgotten that she appeared in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
Jimmy Kimmel is our hero without a cape in this saga, as he asked Paltrow that question when she stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday to promote “The Politician,” the Ryan Murphy-created Netflix series in which she stars.
The ABC late-night host started by recapping a moment from Jon Favreau’s cooking show, “The Chef Show,” which featured Favreau (who plays Happy Hogan in the MCU) trying to jog Gwyn’s memory about them both having appeared in “Homecoming.”
“How did that happen?”
“I just got confused,” Paltrow said. “There’s so many of these wonderful Marvel, interconnecting movies and I thought that we had– I thought that it was an ‘Avengers’ movie, but it was not.”
No, no, it wasn’t, Gwyn.
Kimmel then asked if Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, was offended the actress didn’t remember her role in the film.

“I never actually saw the movie… I mean wait! Cut that out! Take that back! S—,” she said.
Kimmel reassured her that it’s fine and that people do not expect Gwyneth Paltrow to be watching “Spider-Man” movies.
